Early Voting- Prop A

Description

November 4 is Election Day!  The tax rate has lowered over the past several years and we have the opportunity make our voice heard.  Every vote counts!  Learn more here: https://www.lhvotes.com/

If the vote does NOT pass, LHISD will need to make an additional $4 million to the budget, after having made $10.9 million for the 25-26 school year.  So in order to keep a balanced budget, the following would be considered to be cut in the 26-27 school year:

  • Lariat Elementary will not open.
  • Further increasing class size, with the potential to be well over 22 students per class.
  • Still function with the cuts to GT, ESL, Behavior Support, STEM, Library, Support Positions that were made 25-26 budget cuts.
  • Further reducing transportation routes
  • Shared campus staff-- SRO, nurses, counselors, assistant principals (more strain with behavior support), instructional coaches.
  • Legacy Ranch Middle School will not open
  • Increase facility rentals significantly
  • Institute paying to participate in extracurricular activities like sports

This is not a punishment list, this is a harsh reality of the current state of the funding resources in Texas.   The red colored bullet points are the ones that would impact Noble students and their families the most directly.
